Hunting is done for a variety of reasons, relaxation, food, sport, to maintain population .I hunt for all those reasons, but reasons may vary for each individual. You may not be a hunter at all to come in close contact with wild species. And you do not have to be a hunter to help manage wildlife or be a victim from wildlife. Just like a non hunting couple in Washington, they have gotten together with a trusted group of hunters. They are all helping control the large population of deer were causing a lot of damage to their property. This has saved valuable forest they live on. |

In some areas they have problems with wild turkey. Farmers will grain drill or use other crop row techniques planting their seeds. The turkey will pick the row out, work its way strait up that row eat most of the seed before the seed even has time to germinate. This is a big loss to the farmer. He lost the cost of seed plus what that plant would have produced when grown, fuel and the time it took him planting it. |
