Secondary Heading

Little did I know when I woke up this morning that the day would hold so much excitement, I was planning to have a lazy day. It had been a long hard season. A lot of walking, a lot of sitting and just waiting. We were on the last Sunday of the season.  We were tired.

But all at once my husband said “there they are again”. I knew exactly what he was talking about. I had been watching three large toms all winter .We live on a large farm. You see a lot of wildlife. Before he even said “go get him “, I was putting on hunting clothes, throwing on my boots. Grabbing my shotgun, a couple of shells. I ran out the door and through the yard. We have fenced in fields, to hold cattle in. Today the cows are in another field. Thank goodness.

I make it to the fence; I don’t even stop to open the gate to much noisy and time. I have heard that chain clank around the gate before. It’s way too loud. The birds will hear it.  So I slide on the ground underneath a barbwire fence. First on my knees then laid all the way on the ground one quick scoot, on my feet again. Walking fast I already has a plan to beat the three toms to the back of the field without them seeing me first. The fields are  not completely flat so I drop off the side of the hill, go down hill ,go to my left up hill, and circle back  through a small patch of woods.

There isn’t a lot of cover because there are no leaves on the trees yet. Here I have came to another barbwire fence .So I go through the middle of it, and my pants are hung on the fence. Even worse, I look up and one of the toms has beaten me to the back of the field.
