Personal Narrative

To many times she has taken her life in her own hands by not understanding the importance for taking care of herself. There have been countless trips to the hospital in the past 23 years. My mom’s sugar has ranged from a low of 26 to a high of over 600. She has been in 3 diabetic comas. Each time the doctors have told her she was lucky to live through it. For the first few weeks or so it makes a difference then she slips back into the same routine. My only wish is that she would realize before it’s to late that her baby boy’s heart would never be able to mend from the loss of her. So for now with every phone call that I get from my Dad my heart stops, my blood pressure rises, and my throat locks wondering if this call is the one to tell me that my mom didn’t wake up today.
