Critical Analysis Continued

If it’s affected our media and fashion then yes it has most definitely took a toll on our language. Slang has always been influenced by popular music but hip-hop pretty much created a language of its own. Although slang can change very quickly almost all slang terms youth use today probably originated from the hip-hop culture. For instance “tight” this usually means snug but in the hip-hop culture this term is used to describe things as cool or exciting. For the most part this slang is created by hip-hop artist themselves. The rappers Snoop Dogg and E-40 were the first to put “izzle” in the middle or end of their words. Now this suffix is used to make regular words have a more hip-hop sound.

Hip-hop has affected my generation in a major ways. From everything in the social media to the fashion and even the way we choose to talk. There’s almost no way to avoid hip-hop it has dominated all other genres of music and rose to the top. Originating in the Bronx in 1970’s to then spreading nationwide this music has certainly came a long way.
