what any normal person would do, I spent the rest of the night drawing up a will and making my funeral arrangements. These episodes continued throughout the next week, I could be running or just laying in bed, and my chest would constrict and then my heart would feel like it was about to beat out of my chest and I would be fatigued afterwards. I finally went to the doctor who told me it could be asthma but didn’t want to take any chances so she referred me to a heart specialist. After I got out of the doctors, I felt like there was a thick fog in my head and everything was happening in slow motion. I felt numb like I wasn’t in control of my body. When I got to my room I broke down and cried I knew it was pathetic to be so emotional, but I couldn’t help but think the worst. I didn’t realize it until later but I had gone to the doctor with the attitude that she would tell me everything was fine I kept telling myself it was nothing. The worst thing about going to the doctor was she had told me no gym, and that was my one stress reliever, making me feel that much more out of control. A few days after seeing my doctor, while I was taking a calculus exam I had another episode, but this time it wasn’t a typical episode, my left arm started to go numb and my heart felt like it was going to explode. I was also extremely tired and couldn’t stand up, and thought I was having a heart attack. Right after the exam my mom took me to the hospital to get some tests done. They couldn’t |
