My Personal Story

One morning I woke up to an annoying  and loud buzzing sound in my ear. I rolled over in my queen-sized, comfortable bed and turned off the alarm clock, which read eight-thirty A.M. I hate having to wake up early, but college is more important than sleeping in. I got up out of bed, went to the bathroom, and took of my pink and green pajamas. I reached for the metal knob behind my shower curtain, turned it to hot water, and disappeared into the stream. After twenty minutes of bathing. I reached out for my drying towel, wrapped it around me, and proceeded to my walk-in closet full of colors to figure out what I was going to wear for the day.

Once dressed, I sat on my bed with a big bowl of Captain Crunch Berries, which is still my favorite cereal at nine-teen years old. I turned on my thirty-two inch, Toshiba television set, and adjusted the channel to the news. Immediately, I felt overshadowed and suffocated by images of mud covered brown-skinned, lifeless bodies.
